Launched at the Photokina, Epson unveils the latest addition to its comprehensive range of scanners, the Epson Perfection 4180 Photo. Aimed at amateur photographers and home photo enthusiasts who are looking for professional quality and performance, the Perfection 4180 Photo is superb for those needing high quality output from a cost effective device. The sleek, compact design adds style and performance to any desktop. Yasbir Sihan, Epson's Senior European Product Manager for Input Products said: "This new scanner offers photographic enthusiasts superior quality and performance which we think will delight them, especially when they see how competitively we have priced the product. At Epson we continuously strive to deliver products that are of a high quality and are highly desirable to the market but affordably priced, this product meets our criteria perfectly." The Epson Perfection 4180 Photo has a class leading 4800 x 9600dpi optical resolution, enabling users to make beautiful enlargements from both photos and film. The scanner has excellent film scanning capabilities thanks to the built-in film adapter that handles multiple film formats. It can scan up to 12 x 35mm frames, up to 4 x 35mm mounted slides and up to 1 x 12cm 120/220 medium format film in one pass. The built-in film adapter scans multiple types of film, allowing users to easily scan negatives to produce high quality enlargements or archive film. In addition the scanner has an optional auto document feeder, which can handle 4.5 pages per minute.

The Epson Perfection 4180 Photo also includes Epson's photo restoration software. The colour restoration function restores faded or discoloured images, even on black and white film and photos, making old images look as good as the day they were taken. The Epson dust removal eliminates annoying "dust" from positive and negative film, helping users to return their memories to their original condition.
