BenQ unveils a new addition to its digital camera classic line-up, the BenQ DC C740 digital compact camera. The BenQ C740 camera comes with 7 and Megapixels CCD image sensor, 3x optical zoom, a large 2.5-inch LTPS screen and a SMC (Super Multi-Coating) Pentax lens. Together with highly versatile features such as Shake-Free mode, high ISO portrait mode and PASM mode respectively, the BenQ DC C740 digital camera provides a true-to-life high image performance satisfactory to even photo expertise. The BenQ DC C740 is equipped with a SMC Pentax Lens that allows the camera to deliver exceptional crisp, sharp photos with clarity and superb contrast. The BenQ C740 will be available in early September 2006.

BenQ C740 camera - Sensitivity
The compact BenQ DC C740 digital compact camera features a shake-free function allowing the user to take clear and precise shots without any distortion. This function can be selected directly from the function wheel allowing the user to capture shake-free images. In addition, the high ISO portrait mode supports high sensitivity (ISO) to light up to 1000 to ensure clear photos in a dark environment. Moreover, the PASM (Program AE/Aperture Priority/Shutter Priority/Manual) mode enables users to manually customize the aperture and shutter speed to one's own preferences.

Program mode controls the exposure compensation (the amount of light entering the camera). By detecting the lighting conditions, the BenQ C740 automatically sets the shutter speed and aperture (f-stop); The aperture priority mode automatically sets an appropriate shutter speed according to the user's choice of the aperture setting; the camera automatically sets the shutter speed for proper exposure and is primarily used to control the depth of field (the range of sharpness); Shutter priority mode controls the shutter speed and exposure compensation. The BenQ DC C740 camera automatically sets the aperture for proper exposure. Shutter priority mode is primarily used to prevent blur when your subject is moving. The manual mode allows users' the highest level of creative control in its aperture and shutter speed.

The BenQ C740 also includes other features such as direct printing mode, continuous movie recording with optical zoom, 13 scene modes, multi-metering and 3:2 and 16:9 special output sizes; 3:2 resolution mode for easy printing without trimming edges; 16:9 resolution mode for direct display on a 16:9 TV making this BenQ DC C740 an all-round, highly versatile high performance camera.
