Photokina report
Of course Sony was presented at the Photokina show, but actually did not had much news to unveil. The new Sony T50 was introduced in September 2006 and features a 1/2.5-inch 7.2 Megapixel Super HAD CCD image sensor. This little digital compact camera incorporates a bunch of gyro sensors to stabilize any camera shaking caused by photographing in dim lit conditions of with long shutter speeds and telephotographing.

Sony Cybershot T50 - 3-inch LCD display
It is interesting to see how small the components are integrated in the Sony Cybershot DSC-T50 camera. Two halves of the body, a lens unit, CCD sensor, processor and a large 3-inch format LCD display are the main components of today's modern compact camera. Looking at the size of that LCD screen it is obvious that without increasing the size of the housing it would be virtually impossible to incorporated a bigger screen. Or maybe touch-screen must become more popular allowing to decrease the number of buttons and therefore the size of the housing.
