Nikon D90 review

ADSLR like the Nikon D90 offers a lot, or rather; a heck of a lot of possibilities for the amateur photographer. And the whole secret is to offer all these possibilities in a user-friendly way, since the user should not be overwhelmed. In practice, it turned out we did not have to worry about it. It's not without reason that the well-known green AUTO mode is found on the command dial. If one chooses to use it, no thoughts have to be made about any camera setting whatsoever.

However, you don't just buy the Nikon D90 for its beautiful appearance only. Besides high expectations about the image quality, the average user is up for the occasional creative shooting as well. Preset scenes can be directly accessed through the large command dial. Every one of these scenes puts emphasis on a specific feature of the image. One step further, you might want to try the (S) shutter speed priority, or (A) Aperture priority, a semi-auto action at which it is fairly easy to influence motion and depth of field, among other things.

Nikon D90 memory
Nikon adopted the SD platform a while ago, including the SDHC memory card, to serve as storage medium for entry-level digital SLR cameras. As for the Nikon D300 and higher, Nikon prefers to use CompactFlash for now. Moreover, the Nikon D90 is the world's first DSLR officially supporting the SanDisk enhanced maximum SDHC speed, the 30MB/sec. SDHC is currently available with 32GB storage which suffices for a DSLR as the D90 to shoot a large amount of photos.

Nikon is treading the war path at least that is what it is starting to look like. One after the other DSLR is being introduced, all of them equipped with the many renewed features or innovative image solutions. It's a tough struggle to conquer a much desired market share in the DSLR market. A battle that until recently was dominated by Canon, who is now regretfully witnessing how the competition has grown fiercely and is making a passing maneuver in some respects. We consider this an excellent development from which you as photographer will benefit. Read the full Nikon D90 review at LetsGoDigital.
