Photokina report
When it comes to the design of the Panasonic LUMIX FZ28, it is almost similar to that of its predecessor. Obviously, there is no need or drive to change this design. Also, the dimensions and weight of both cameras are alike, or nearly alike. Even the locations of the buttons have remained untouched. New is the play/record button on the back of the Panasonic lumix FZ28. A nice addition, although generally known already. If you have read the Panasonic FZ18 review, you will recognize a lot as you read on now.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 review
It is not a surprise that the hand-fit of the Panasonic FZ28 is experienced by the user as unchanged. The camera has a perfect hand-fit, thanks to the way the weight is divided and the excellent handgrip. Naturally, the hand-fit of a camera adds to the joy of shooting. The Panasonic FZ28 may be compact for a Megazoom camera, yet for a photo camera, the design is still fairly big. You won't carry it with you just like that in your inner pocket or trouser pocket. The front of the camera is mainly dominating by a large-sized lens. Above the zoom lens, a large built-in flash pops up high. A small LED on one side of the lens functions as indicator for the self-timer and at the same time as AF assist lamp. A tiny microphone below the LED records sound whilst capturing a video.

Panasonic Lumix camera memory
Being one of the founders, Panasonic fully supports the SD format. The success of the Secure Digital as universal storage medium for digital cameras, camcorders, MP3 players etc, laid the foundation of the development to the SDHC platform. At present, the SD platform consists of a standard SD card with a storage capacity of 2GB and the SDCH format with a maximum capacity of 32GB. And if you think this is the end, you are wrong; the introduction of several new memory cards in 2009 will highly surprise you. The official name has not yet been announced, however, storage capacities of 64GB and at a later stage perhaps 128GB, are figures that have been mentioned. For now, the Panasonic LUMIX FZ28 will not need that much storage space and the SDHC platform offers sufficient capacity.
Panasonic FZ28 review
The Panasonic LUMIX FZ28 digital camera is a logical successor to its predecessor. It is a Megazoom camera perfectly updated for this time and age, thanks to the resolution increase, improved algorithms and powerful image processor. If you find a DSLR camera too complicated (large and heavy), or if you simply want a large optical zoom range in the most compact size possible; go for the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ28. The camera performs in the way you expect it to, no more, no less. Simply a superb camera for all-round shooting! Read the full Panasonic Lumix review at LetsGoDigital.
