The Nikon Coolpix S9100 compact camera was introduced at the start of this year in Japan, during the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2011. The 12.1 megapixel Nikon S9100 is at the top of Nikon’s stylish camera series and is the successor to the Nikon Coolpix S8100. The Nikon S9100’s incredibly flat body has an 18x Nikkor zoom lens, instead of the10x zoom that the Nikon Coolpix S8100 offers. Impressive pictures and videos can be taken with the new camera lens, from 25mm wide angle to 450mm super-tele. The slim Nikon S9100 camera became available last month for a suggested retail price of 330,00 Euro. The Nikon S9100 is available in many different colors.

The Nikon S9100 camera zoom function cannot only be used while shooting pictures, but also while recording videos. The Nikon S9100 compact camera is able to shoot Full HD video with stereo sound. Shooting macro photos at a mere 1.5cm distance and 360˚ panorama pictures are some of the possibilities. The Nikon S9100’s screen remains unchanged. The large 3" LCD screen with 921.000 pixels uses Nikon’s Clear Color Display technology, which reduces energy use and reflections, even under strong sunlight.

The Nikon S9100 compact camera is equipped with a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor with back lighting. This decreases the amount of noise, while improves the camera sensitivity. This makes it possible to shoot with the Nikon S9100 under all lighting circumstances. Blurry photos are further prevented by 7 different functions, while there were only 5 in the Nikon Coolpix S8100 camera. Special lighting settings as well as the night portrait and night landscape functions are new, so that memories can be captured nice and sharp, even at night.
