Next to the Olympus Tough TG-610, the Tough TG-310 and Tough TG-810 are also included in Olympus’ Tough-series assortment. All three Tough cameras from Olympus have a resolution of 14 megapixels. The differences are found in the waterproof and shock resistant features and the camera lens. The Olympus Tough TG-610 camera has a 5x optical zoom lens, while the Olympus Tough TG-310 camera only has a 3.6x zoom lens. The Olympus Tough TG-310 is ‘only’ waterproof up to 3 meters, instead of the Olympus Tough TG-610’s 5 meters. The Olympus Tough TG-810 is waterproof up to a depth of 10 meters, and is shock resistant up to a height of 2 meters. An extra value to the Olympus Tough TG-810 is GPS functionality and an navigation compass.

Even underwater, a double lock system ensures good protection for the battery, flash memory card and external connections, and the extra metal lens cap protects the optical zoom lens. Captured pictures can be easily uploaded to a Personal Computer or online website thanks to the wireless Eye-Fi support. Digital photos can also be reviewed on the Olympus Tough TG-610’s 7.6" Super Precision Hyper Crystal 3 LCD screen. The Olympus Tough TG-610 camera’s scratch-resistant, high-resolution screen ensures for a sharp and clear display. A special layer diminishes reflections and that translates to better visibility, ideal for determining the shot frame and reviewing captured photos and video recordings. The Olympus Tough TG-610 digital camera records videos in 720p HD resolution.
