Samsung cameras at Photokina

The 'sleeping giant' is Samsung's name in the photo industry. And sleeping doesn't seem too far off we discovered, after visiting the Samsung booth. As for floor space, Samsung had sufficient room to show many of its new products, and it is rather striking that Samsung has nothing, or almost nothing, to declare as for cameras. All of the products but one prototype, the Samsung HZ1, were introduced at the CES and PMA (January 2008). Samsung seems to omit profiling the company as an innovative and serious camera manufacturer at the world's largest and most important imaging event, apart from a few camera models introduced in July.

Nikon Cameras at Photokina

The famous Nikon yellow and black colors dominated a huge part of the gigantic halls of the Photokina show. The booth accurately represented Nikon's presentation in the world in 2008. The huge booth was crowded with people and could have done with some more floor space to be able to accommodate all the visitors. Nikon's DSLR models passed from hand to hand among the eager crowd. The new Nikon D90 was in the limelight, although the successful D3, D300 and the recently introduced D700 also seemed extremely wanted and popular.

Samsung Pixon

Samsung introduced the Samsung Pixon 8 megapixel camera phone. The Samsung Pixon cell phone will available in October to consumers who want to easily capture and share life’s unexpected moments anytime, anywhere they desire. Ever seen something and thought, “if only I had my camera with me”? Many people experience those perfect moments that cry out to be captured - a beautiful, indescribable or unexpected moment that should be kept and be shared with friends and loved ones. Pretec 32GB and 64GB CF cards

Continuing the revolution in the field of flash memory card speed and capacity, Pretec releases 64GB and 100GB, 233X CF cards with access speed of up to 35MB/s, overtaking the Pretec 48GB CF card, the previous world’s record holder for highest capacity CF card; and super high speed 333X 32GB and 50GB CF cards capable of running up to 50 MB per second of Read/Write speed, the highest speed CF card in the world.

T-Mobile G1

T-Mobile announced the international launch of the world’s first Android powered mobile phone in partnership with Google. Available soon only for T-Mobile customers spanning two continents, the T-Mobile G1 cell phone combines full touch-screen functionality and a QWERTY keyboard with a mobile Web experience that includes the popular Google products that millions have enjoyed on the desktop, including Google Maps Street View, Gmail, YouTube and others. The T-Mobile G1 is the first phone to offer access to Android Market, which hosts unique applications and mash ups of existing and new services from developers around the world.

Kodak EasyShare Z1485 IS

When passing by numerous stands at the Photokina Fair, a new Kodak digital camera just came in at the Kodak booth. The Kodak EasyShare Z1485 IS compact camera will boost 14 megapixel of resolution, featuring a 5x optical zoom lens with Image Stabilizer. The optical image stabilizer automatically minimizes camera shake to deliver sharper pictures. Furthermore, the Kodak Z1485 IS lets users capture details in low light conditions and fast action situations with high ISO up to 6400. With the Kodak Z1485 IS users are able to shoot pictures full automatic, in the program mode, but also manually. In the manual mode users can choose both the aperture and shutter speed.

Fujifilm 3D digital camera

Fujifilm announces a radical departure from current imaging systems with the development of a completely new, real image system (3D digital camera, 3D digital photo frame, 3D print) that marks a complete break from previous attempts to introduce this technology.
