The SanDisk Sansa series seems to have appeared out of nothing, yet set the world on fire and not without success; SanDisk now occupy the second spot on the American market. The Sansa e200 series is SanDisk's compact MP3 player line, and is ready to battle it out with, among others, the iPod. Thanks to the 8GB internal memory, which can even be enhanced, a large sized 1.8 inch TFT monitor and an exchangeable battery, the SanDisk Sansa e280 seems to keep pace with its rivals. The MP3 player features a photo viewer and video viewer. To view pictures, you can choose between a photo frame and a miniature picture; in fact, it is quite obvious; thumbnails or text. You can also opt for a slide show.

Panasonic DMW SDP1 Photo Player

Panasonic today introduced the new Panasonic HDTV Photo Player DMW-SDP1 that allows users to view photos taken by a LUMIX or other SD-enabled digital camera, in High Definition quality on a large screen TV. Through simply connecting the Panasonic SDP1 (using supplied HD component cable) to a High Definition TV, such as a Panasonic VIERA, and inserting their SD/SDHC memory card into the slot, users can view their photos in 1080i high definition quality. Taking advantage of its wide portfolio of consumer electronic expertise, Panasonicís commitment to create a new photographic culture through the introductions of not only cameras but also other digital imaging solutions, continues to grow.

Epson P-2000 multimedia storage viewer

Another Photokina announcement from Epson; Epson unveils the Epson P-2000 multimedia storage viewer, the successor to the Epson Photo PC P-1000 photo viewer. The Epson P-2000 enables consumers to professional photographers to save their photos from their digital camera memory card and view them on the 3.8 inch Photo Fine display wherever they are. The Epson P-2000 features the amazing Photo Fine viewer, a low temperature polysilicon TFT technology that offers a resolution of 212 pixels per inch (ppi) and vibrant colours for sharp and crystal-clear picture quality. Thanks to the Photo Fine display, digital photographs will come to life on screen. In addition to the quality photo viewing capabilities, the Epson P-2000 provides support for digital camera and camcorder movies and music files. It features a 40 GB hard disk drive, so it can double up as a portable storage unit for any PC or Mac files. The Epson P-2000 is around twice as fast as its predecessor when viewing photos and has a battery life of up to three hours. And it supports RAW files from Nikon, Canon and the new Epson R-D1 rangefinder digital camera.

SanDisk today introduced three high-speed card readers, the SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1, ImageMate 5-in-1 and ImageMate CompactFlash (CF) readers. Ideal for owners of digital cameras and other consumer electronics devices, each new reader includes a one-step transfer button and software for the PC to simplify the most common tasks that people want to do with their photos-transfer them to the hard drive, rename files and email them. The ImageMate readers are designed to quickly transfer pictures, digital video, music or any type of data to a computer via a high-speed USB 2.0 port. For easier image organizing, sharing and viewing, each reader is bundled with Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition software.
