JVC Professional Products Company expands its ProHD family line of products with the introduction of the GY-HD200U high definition camcorder. Targeted for independent filmmakers and stringers, this high definition camcorder carries the “Compact-Shoulder” form factor popularized by the JVC GY-HD100U, and is capable of HDV720/60P true progressive image acquisition due to the implementation of JVC’s new “Super Encoder” developed for the latest line of ProHD products. 60P provides 60 full frames of information per second, excellent for viewing and analyzing motion, as well as for delivering an “overcranked” recording for superb slow motion when the final output is 24P.

It was only a few years ago that video tape was the one and only medium for your camcorder. Since then, development in other storage solutions has continued at high speed, and where DVD was seen as a comfortable way of storing your movies, the flash card started to gain market share. Prices for flash storage dropped and the capacities of flash cards increased rapid. Also, the hard drive became an interesting solution and today’s generation of digital camcorders use flash memory cards and / or high capacity hard drives. The advantage of the use of a flash card is the fact that it is very small, light weight and it does not consume power in a way that would require a large battery. The dimensions of the digital camcorder have significantly decreased, and it is without a doubt you will see a lot of new models appear at the Photokina 2008 world imaging event.
