Epson imaging products at Photokina

Epson, the digital imaging pioneer, will display and demonstrate the latest in photo printing, photo display and projection at Photokina 2006. The Epson booth is designed to ensure that there is something to interest you, whether you are a professional or amateur photographer, a scrapbooker, starting out in home photo printing or even a home cinema enthusiast.
Epson will also host a press conference at Photokina on the 25th September at 16.00 in the Europasaal. It will discuss Epson's business strategy and latest technology innovations for the photo industry and launch its latest products for the professional and consumer photo markets.

Epson GT-2500 scanner

Epson America, Inc. Today announced two fast, affordable document imaging scanners designed for small business workgroups with the Epson GT-2500 and GT-2500 Plus. These flatbed scanners are not only engineered to capture high-quality, but can do so at resolutions up to 1200 x 1200 dpi for intense detail. They can scan documents up to 27 pages per minute in monochrome (ppm) and up to 11 ppm in color in 300 dpi. Both scanners also come standard with several productivity-enhancing features such as a 50 sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), automatic duplexing, one-button scanning, and more. The Epson GT-2500 and GT-2500 Plus are respectively priced at $599 and $899 and will be available in July 2006.

Epson EPL-N2550 laser printer

Epson R-D1s

Epson Japan unveiled an updated version of the R-D1, the Epson RD-1s digital SLR camera. With the Epson R D1s rangefinder camera, Epson introduces an unique model in today's digital camera market. Its predecessor already made furor even long before it became available and even with the new RD-1s Epson is still introducing a digital camera that is not one of a kind. The Epson R D1s digital SLR camera is a combination of old school photography and high quality digital image handling. The concept of the Epson R-D1s remains the same, only some software updates and some functions have been added to the camera. Epson P-2000 multimedia storage viewer

Another Photokina announcement from Epson; Epson unveils the Epson P-2000 multimedia storage viewer, the successor to the Epson Photo PC P-1000 photo viewer. The Epson P-2000 enables consumers to professional photographers to save their photos from their digital camera memory card and view them on the 3.8 inch Photo Fine display wherever they are. The Epson P-2000 features the amazing Photo Fine viewer, a low temperature polysilicon TFT technology that offers a resolution of 212 pixels per inch (ppi) and vibrant colours for sharp and crystal-clear picture quality. Thanks to the Photo Fine display, digital photographs will come to life on screen. In addition to the quality photo viewing capabilities, the Epson P-2000 provides support for digital camera and camcorder movies and music files. It features a 40 GB hard disk drive, so it can double up as a portable storage unit for any PC or Mac files. The Epson P-2000 is around twice as fast as its predecessor when viewing photos and has a battery life of up to three hours. And it supports RAW files from Nikon, Canon and the new Epson R-D1 rangefinder digital camera.

Aimed at amateur photographers and home photo enthusiasts who are looking for professional quality and performance, the Perfection 4180 Photo is superb for those needing high quality output from a cost effective device. The sleek, compact design adds style and performance to any desktop. Yasbir Sihan, Epson's Senior European Product Manager for Input Products said: "This new scanner offers photographic enthusiasts superior quality and performance which we think will delight them, especially when they see how competitively we have priced the product. At Epson we continuously strive to deliver products that are of a high quality and are highly desirable to the market but affordably priced, this product meets our criteria perfectly." The Epson Perfection 4180 Photo has a class leading 4800 x 9600dpi optical resolution, enabling users to make beautiful enlargements from both photos and film. The scanner has excellent film scanning capabilities thanks to the built-in film adapter that handles multiple film formats. It can scan up to 12 x 35mm frames, up to 4 x 35mm mounted slides and up to 1 x 12cm 120/220 medium format film in one pass. The built-in film adapter scans multiple types of film, allowing users to easily scan negatives to produce high quality enlargements or archive film. In addition the scanner has an optional auto document feeder, which can handle 4.5 pages per minute.
