Photokina report
If anything became clear at the Photokina 2008, it was the fact that the compact camera desperately needs an innovative boost. There was hardly any news on the field of compact cameras at this world event, it were the advanced digital cameras, D-SLR cameras that surprised us and, of course, the Micro FourThirds System. Even Fujifilm didn’t have a lot to offer, whereas in the past they have always introduced some interesting compact cameras during events like the Photokina, except for a few a FinePix camera models that were introduced the beginning of August. The assortment looks too familiar; there is more of the same stuff.

Sales of digital cameras, and other devices like camera phones or webcams have raced ahead of what experts had expected because of the sheer scope of what has become possible in digital imaging.

Fujifilm MP-300 photo printer
- Brand: Fujifilm
- Subject: Printers
- Category: Mobile printers
Although not officially presented at the Photokina 2006 I was demonstrated a new Fujifilm MP-300 mobile printer. The Fujifilm MP300 printer is a compact portable printer you can take with you anywhere, making it easy for you to print out photos from your digital camera or camera phone. It is PictBridge compatible so you will be able to connect your digital camera or mobile phone via the USB cable to the Fujifilm MP-300. You can send images at high speed directly to the Fujifilm MP-300 from a digital camera or camera phone that supports the high-speed infrared communications standard. Such a digital camera is the new Fujifilm FinePix F31fd which supports high-speed infrared communication.
