Fujifilm announces the development of the much anticipated follow-up to the FinePix S3 Pro DSLR, the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro. The new Fujifilm S5 Pro is an important step in continuing with the company’s goals for achieving professional DSLR image quality consistent with Fujifilm’s professional film heritage. The increased dynamic range from the Super CCD SR double pixel technology (6.17 million S-pixels and 6.17 million R-pixels) became popular in the FinePix S3 Pro with portrait and wedding photographers. The Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro continues these advancements by coupling the proven Super CCD SR Pro with the companies new Real Photo Processor Pro for even more outstanding film-like results.

Fuji Photo Film launches the new FinePix F31fd, Fuji’s first pocketable digital camera to feature hardware-based Face Detection technology, which debuted with the introduction of the FinePix S6500fd. Face Detection has great impact on people photography, ensuring the camera automatically focuses on and exposes for faces, rather than details that can confuse other cameras. Coping with up to ten faces in a frame, it ensures photos of friends and family are crisp, clear and perfectly exposed no matter what the occasion. Fujifilm’s Face Detection technology is unique because the technology is built-in to the camera’s processor, enabling it to identify faces, optimise settings and take the photo within just 0.05 seconds.
