Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition

Posted by: Ilse Jurrien Thursday 7th, September 2006

Nokia today unveiled its latest premium mobile phone, the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition. Sensual by nature, intuitively beautiful by design, the Sirocco Edition's signature feature is a thumbprint, which perfectly matches the human hand. The soundtrack of the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition was composed by the avant-garde musical pioneer Brian Eno, considered the "father of ambient music." The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition draws its name from the powerful desert-born wind that originates in the Sahara when a warm, dry air mass collides with the cooler, maritime air of the Mediterrean. The striking organic shape of the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition references the inherent strength of the human form.

One gadget after the other is being launched on the mobile imaging market. Some are stylish, whereas others are more technologically advanced. For years now, Samsung has had a reputation for knowing how to produce mobile phones that combine function and style as well as being interesting gadgets. It all began in 1938 when Samsung started out as a Korean supermarket that grew to become Korea's biggest foodstuffs supplier and a construction company after the end of the Korean War. Samsung started producing household equipment, televisions and radios in the 1960s and by the 1980s, it was the leading producer of portable TV's. In 1993, Samsung launched its first ultra light mobile telephone. At 100 grams, the Samsung SH700 was way ahead of its time. Meanwhile, the company had grown into a global enterprise doing business in over 58 countries. Samsung is the only Korean brand in the Top 100 Global Brands. Samsung Electronics is the second largest provider of mobile telephones in the Benelux.

Posted by: Ilse Jurrien Thursday 7th, September 2006

It is only, however, when you slide the Samsung E900 open and the keys light up like magic, that you really get the feeling that the Samsung SGH-E900 is an innovation. The keys that light up are the function keys and the keys to take or end a call. This last key can also be used to delete a character when you are writing a text or MMS message. You can also use this key to end a function that you were using. The telephone reacts immediately if you just touch the keys lightly. The functions on the function keys vary per menu. It says on the bottom of the Samsung E900's screen which function the key is meant for.

Mobile imaging is hot, but the way the imaging industry looks at mobile imaging products has changed. Whereas some once thought that we needed digital cameras with phones built-in, or imagined doom scenarios where compact cameras disappeared entirely and mobile camera phones take over, the same people have now come to the conclusion that mobile imaging has increased the imaging market and is for most users just another way of taking a snapshot. Today's mobile camera phone has increased in resolution and offers features that were at earlier times only found in digital cameras. We may even see the first 12 Megapixel camera phones at the end of this year, or the beginning of 2009. One thing is for sure, the strength of a multimedia phone is an ultra compact and light weight design so that you can carry it with you, always, whilst also offering a perfect integration of a lot of multimedia features like a digital camera, video capture, GPS, Internet, etc.
