At the press conference in Dublin I was able to shoot with the new stylish Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX33 compact camera. The Panasonic FX33 is a camera for the photographer who appreciates convenience shooting and a stylish design. The camera is easy to handle and incorporates a range of pre-programmed scenes, it is offering a range of intelligent camera features to make digital photography as simple as possible. I took the Panasonic camera with me to the Dublin area and was able to test the new intelligent camera features in combination with the MEGA O.I.S system. I have to remind you that the images of the Panasonic Lumix FX33 are still a pre-production level, not final level!

The Panasonic FZ18 is a camera for the photographer who is into a variety of photographic shooting. Although the camera is easy to handle and incorporates a range of pre-programmed scenes, it is offering a range of photographic settings like P/S/A/M for the more experienced photographer. I took the Panasonic camera with me to the Dublin area and was able to test the new intelligent camera features in combination with the MEGA O.I.S system. I have to remind you that the images of the Panasonic Lumix FZ18 are still a pre-production level, not final level!

During out Photokina visit we had a meeting with Mister Suguru Takamatsu, Coordinator Marke-ting Team Overseas Sales & Marketing Group and Ichiro Kitao, Product Planning Manager, from Panasonic and discussed the status of the Panasonic L1 digital SLR camera and Panasonic's plans as to future DSLR cameras. Panasonic showcased their complete new series of digital compact and SLR cameras. The booth is very big and it shows Panasonic is serious about their position in the camera market. Visitors were able to touch and try the new Panasonic L1, Lumix FZ50 and LX2 cameras, and the ultra-compact FX3, FX03 and FX50 models. Suguru and Ichiro spend some time to have quick Q & A session with us.

Panasonic is backing OUR PLACE - The World's Heritage, a project that will create the largest-ever photographic collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The photographs will be published under the OUR PLACE brand in an initial series of 10 books which will be released over the next five years. A team of international photographers will cover the sites from their physical and geographical aspects, as well as document the human presence and interaction that helps make them so important to mankind. An interactive website will be launched later next year, when sufficient images are available. The website will feature World Heritage site photographs and background information.

Panasonic introduced the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 digital compact camera in Lisbon February this year. During the introduction, it soon became clear that it was an extremely compact Mega zoom digital camera, in fact, one of the world's smallest Mega zoom digital cameras with 10x optical zoom. As well as its compact size, the Panasonic Lumix TZ1 has 5 million effective pixels from a 6.37 Megapixel CCD image sensor. One of this electronic giant's major achievements is the application of the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) throughout the entire range of Panasonic digital cameras.

Panasonic today introduced the new Panasonic HDTV Photo Player DMW-SDP1 that allows users to view photos taken by a LUMIX or other SD-enabled digital camera, in High Definition quality on a large screen TV. Through simply connecting the Panasonic SDP1 (using supplied HD component cable) to a High Definition TV, such as a Panasonic VIERA, and inserting their SD/SDHC memory card into the slot, users can view their photos in 1080i high definition quality. Panasonic introduced the new Panasonic Lumix 6 Megapixel, f/2.8 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 35 mm to 105 mm on a 35 mm film camera) Leica DC lens Panasonic DMC-FX3 featuring MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) and max. ISO 1600 high sensitivity mode (Not including Macro Mode). Panasonic has long led the industry with its incorporation of an optical image stabilization system, MEGA O.I.S., into even its compact range of cameras. This system produces no deterioration of picture quality and has now become a standard feature for all digital cameras in the market. Now the new Panasonic FX3 also benefits from a High Sensitivity mode which allows shooting at a maximum sensitivity setting of ISO 1600.
