Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 digital camera review : Panasonic has had a lot of success with its TZ-series, and if it’s up to Panasonic, this success will last a little while longer. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 is the newest digital camera in the TZ-series, this time with built-in GPS. Strangely enough, GPS is only slowly being included as a standard specification by the camera manufacturers. On a technical level, the integration of GPS in a digital camera is not exactly flawless. There are a few things which can disrupt the GPS signal, such as the LCD display and the image sensor, which means that there are a few ‘tricks’ necessary to avoid this problem.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX150 does not mind a few extra Megapixels. No less than 14.7 Megapixels have been crammed onto the 1/1.72 inch image sensor. We don't even find a resolution this high standard on most digital SLR cameras, exceptional! However, the question arises: what do we do with an amount this high? Is it really necessary to equip a compact camera with a resolution this high, or did marketing play a big role in this? Yet, the fact still stands that the Panasonic LUMIX FX150 was introduced last summer, and that it was exactly this high resolution that distinguishes the camera from other LUMIX introductions.

When it comes to the design of the Panasonic LUMIX FZ28, it is almost similar to that of its predecessor. Obviously, there is no need or drive to change this design. Also, the dimensions and weight of both cameras are alike, or nearly alike. Even the locations of the buttons have remained untouched. New is the play/record button on the back of the Panasonic lumix FZ28. A nice addition, although generally known already. If you have read the Panasonic FZ18 review, you will recognize a lot as you read on now.
Panasonic cameras at Photokina
In our opinion, the most elevating news of the came from Panasonic. The recently announced Micro FourThirds System, by Panasonic and Olympus, was followed by a massive presentation of the new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G1 at the Photokina show. The LUMIX G1 caught your eye everywhere you looked in the ambitious Panasonic booth. And in exchange for your driver’s license, you were able to receive a working sample of the Panasonic G1 to get acquainted with the world's first Micro FourThirds System camera on the show floor. A spectacular show around the G1 put even more emphasis on Panasonic's new flagship that played its leading role with verve.

Over the last few years, Panasonic has worked hard to build up a recognizable camera line. And it is quite obvious that they have succeeded, if we look at the market figures that were revealed during an international press event. Panasonic is ranked at the number 1 position in the compact camera segment in no less than five European countries, which is an impressive achievement. If we take a look at Panasonic's assortment it is not surprising they have taken the first rank. At an early stage, Panasonic chose to equip its entire line with an optical image stabilizer and gave priority to a wide angle zoom lens. These are two of the most important features through which Panasonic have distinguished themselves from others.

LetsGoDigital found some time to work with the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 for a short period of time. As far as they concerned, this should be the most interesting development of the year 2008. A while ago, Panasonic introduced the Micro FourThirds system in cooperation with Olympus, which is a further developed camera system based on the Four Thirds standard, shortly after which Panasonic introduced the new G1. This is even more surprising since you would not expect this kind of innovative modification to the interior of the traditional camera by an electronics manufacturer. On the other hand, perhaps you would expect it from a manufacturer as Panasonic, who might have a different view on photography.
