Pentax E60

The brand name changed, but the camera brand’s logo is the same as before. HOYA Corporation Pentax Imaging Systems Division is pleased to announce the launch of the new Pentax Optio E60 compact digital camera, an entry-class camera that is easy to use and has an increased effective pixel count of approximately 10.1 megapixels, allowing even beginners to enjoy high-definition images. In addition to using easily-obtainable AA batteries as the power source, the Pentax E60 is newly equipped with an optical 3x zoom lens that enables for a wide angle of view. This makes it easy to photograph group shots indoors as well as landscapes in a range that is wider than conventional models.

At the Pentax booth the new Pentax K10D draw quit a lot of attention which is honestly not surprising. We believe Pentax has an interesting digital SLR that is able to conquer an impressive market share in the segment of 10 Megapixel digital SLR cameras. Although the Pentax K10 is their latest introduction, other products drew our attention. Pentax showcased some digital camera concepts which were quite interesting.

Pentax K10D DSLR camera

Pentax Corporation introduced the Pentax K10D lens-inter-changeable digital SLR camera. This new digital SLR camera combines 10.2 effective megapixels with a host of advanced technologies - including the Pentax-original Shake Reduction (SR) system - to deliver high-quality digital SLR photography and responsive operations to advanced amateurs and experienced hobbyists. Pentax believes that, while some of these technologies and improvements may not be actually reflected in the product’s specifications, they do make a significant difference in the final images. The Pentax K10D digital SLR camera will start shipping at mid October, 2006.

Pentax Corporation introduces the new Pentax Optio T20 compact digital camera which features an extremely slim body. The Optio T20 is distinguished by its extra-large 3.0-inch, high-definition LCD monitor that allows easy viewing and a touch-display control system for programming the camera. The Penatx Optio T20’s touch display allows you to select and confirm functions by directly touching the LCD monitor. Its simple operations such as selecting the icon from the displayed menu and touching the monitor take the stress out of setting up the camera. And, with its 7.0 effective megapixel resolution, the new Pentax T20 digital compact camera produces high-quality prints with crisp detail.

Pentax Optio E20

Designed for simple operation with conveniences like a Mode dial and powered by widely available AA batteries, the Optio E20 is an entry-level camera that provides the joy of photography to budding photographers in an easy-to-use package. The Pentax Optio E20 manages to fit in a large, 2.4-inch LCD monitor despite its compact body dimensions. Not only does the monitor’s size make it easy to compose and play back images, it also permits easy operation and setup thanks to its large, easy-to-read menu display.

Pentax K100D review at e-Fotografija

DIWA member Matjaz Intihar from e-Fotografija has reviewed the Pentax K100D digital SLR camera. The Pentax 100D packs a large, high-performance 23.5mm x 15.7mm CCD as its image sensor and incorporates a large 2.5 inch color LCD monitor on its back panel. The Pentax K100D’s sophisticated SAFOX VIII auto focus system features 11 sensor points (with nine cross-type sensors in the middle) to automatically focus on the subject with utmost precision, even when it is positioned off center. The Pentax K100D features an auto sensitivity control function, which automatically sets the optimum standard output sensitivity, up to 3200, which is the highest automatic setting in its class.
