At the Pentax booth visitors were able to get their hands on the latest DSLR from Pentax - *istDS. This very compact, lightweight body is an entry-level digital SLR camera that is designed to be as user-friendly as possible. The *istDS is one of the smallest and lightest digital digital SLR cameras on the market today - even more compact and lightweight than the PENTAX *istD. The resolution of this compact DSLR body is 6.1 effective Megapixels and it is compatible with most Pentax interchangeable lenses, old or new. The back of the camera is equipped with a large 2-inch colour LCD display, a feature that is very convenient for the user. The display offers 210,000 pixels of resolution.

Pentax introduces the new Optio MX4. A compact digital camera with a powerful 10X optical zoom and 4.0 effective megapixels, the OptioMX4 is designed not only for the shooting of high-quality still images but also to offer refined movie performance. The concept for the OptioMX4 arose in response to consumer needs, satisfying the demand for the ability to capture distant subjects with 10X optical zoom through a focal range covering angles of view equivalent to those of a 37mm-370mm lens in 35mm format. Comprising 8 groups of 12 elements, the lens of the OptioMX4 makes use of aspherical lenses and extra-low dispersion glass elements that serve to ensure absolute minimum aberration.
