Planar PD4010 projector

The company's new line includes six best-in-class models, ranging from native high-definition 1080p through native 480p resolution, all built on Emmy award-winning DLP technology and boasting contrast ratios up to a staggering 8000:1. Planar's move into the specialty home theater projector market stems from the corporate strategy to increase long-term shareholder value by expanding revenue growth and profitability by penetrating multiple vertical specialty display market segments.

Epson PowerLite 400 projector

Epson America unveiled a new high definition front projector that produces stunning image quality, is easy to use and install, and is aggressively priced to appeal to today's growing number of do-it-yourself home theater builders and high-end video gamers. Priced at $1,599 (estimated street price), the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 400 features HD native resolution (720p) in widescreen 16:9 format, uses the latest Epson Cinema Filter and Dynamic Eye Iris to achieve a contrast ratio up to 5000:1, and produces one of the highest brightness levels (up to 1,500 ANSI lumens) in its class. The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 400 will be available mid-September in retail stores nationwide.
