Although the scanner market for the consumer is decreasing as in numbers of sold scanner products, there is still demand for a scanner from the consumer and from the professional. The scanner manufacturer is still able to bring new innovations into the scanner market and became in the last couple of years more and more compact. The desktop scanner has become very affordable and is still a very interesting and useful digital imaging accessory. Some years ago the scanner mass market has reached a point of maturity in both the North American and Western European markets, but here at the Photokina 2006 show you will still see new scanner products and even 3D scanners for the home and small office users. The World of Digital Imaging covers a broad range of products; scanners are still a part of it.
