Photokina report
Sigma is pleased to announce the launch of the 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC Circular Fisheye HSM the first Circular Fisheye lens exclusively for use with APS-C size digital SLR cameras and 10mm F2.8 EX DC Fisheye HSM diagonal fisheye lens exclusively for use with APS-C size digital SLR cameras for Sony and Pentax fitting cameras. This autofocus circular fisheye lens has an angle of view of 180 degrees in all directions. It is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras with the APS-C size image sensor. When used in conjunction with digital SLRs with APS-C size image sensor, it produces circular image within the frame.
Sigma Tele Converters
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Converters
Sigma announces the new APO Tele Converter 1.4x EX DG and APO Tele Converter 2x EX DG for Sony mount. The new tele converters are capable of maintaining the HSM function of such telephoto lenses as Sigma’s APO 70-200mm F2.8 II EX DG MACRO HSM and APO 50-150mm F2.8 II EX DC HSM whilst increasing the focal length by a factor of 1.4x or 2x. Of course, the HSM AF compatibility depends on the capability of the Sony SLR camera to support this function and on the maximum F number of the attached lens. The Super Multi Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and the exclusive design maintains the master lens’ high level performance while extending its focal length. Compact and lightweight, these tele converters are a convenient way of increasing the focal length of HSM telephoto lenses.
Sigma 50mm lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Fixed Focal Lenses
This large aperture lens becomes a medium telephoto lens offering 100mm equivalent angle of view on Four Thirds cameras. The optimum optical design and molded glass aspherical lens elements provide excellent correction of coma aberration. It ensures superior peripheral brightness and provides sharp, high contrast images even at the maximum aperture. The Super Multi Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting. Superior optical performance is ensured throughout the focusing range. The rounded 9 blades diaphragm creates an attractive blur. This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), ensuring a quiet and high speed AF as well as full time manual focusing capability.
Sigma 24-70mm lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Zoom Lenses
The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the new Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG HSM lens. This large aperture standard zoom lens covers focal lengths from 24mm and is housed in compact construction. The latest optical design provides an overall length of 94.7cm /3.7inch. It is ideal for general photography such as snapshots, portraiture and landscapes. The Super Multi Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting. ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass, two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and three aspherical lenses provide excellent correction of all types of aberrations. Superior optical performance is ensured throughout the entire zoom range.
Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC Macro lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Macro Lenses
Sigma launched today a new Four-Thirds system compatible, large aperture zoom lens; Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC Macro. This lens has a large aperture of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range. A minimum focusing distance of 20cm (7.9”) and a maximum magnification of 1:3, makes it ideal for close-up photography. Specially designed to suit the characteristics of digital SLR cameras, this lens provides a high level of optical performance. Its design incorporates both glass-mould and hybrid aspherical lens technology which offers extremely high image quality as well as a compact and lightweight construction. Minimal vignetting and superior peripheral brightness is ensured.
Sigma 24mm Aspherical Macro lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Macro Lenses
Sigma launched a new Four-Thirds system compatible, large aperture wide-angle lens; Sigma 24mm F1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro. This F1.8 wide-angle lens has a minimum focusing distance of 18cm (7.1”) and a maximum magnification of 1:2.7. Two aspherical lenses ensure the utmost correction of distortion and aberrations. The floating focus system provides high optical performance from 18cm to infinity. The Dual Focus (DF) system makes the lens easy to hold and eliminates focus ring rotation during auto-focusing, making the lens particularly suitable for accepting the petal-type lens hood. The introduction of this new lens increases Sigma's lens line-up for Four Thirds mount to a total of eleven models. With Four Thirds cameras, the focal length will be equivalent to 48mm.
Sigma APO 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Zoom Lenses
Sigma launched today a new Four-Thirds system compatible, compact telephoto zoom lens; Sigma APO 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG. This telephoto zoom lens gives the equivalent field of view to our popular 800mm when used on Four-Thirds cameras. The very latest lens coating technology and lens design reduce flare and ghosting, a common problem with digital cameras. This lens uses one aspherical lens and three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements for excellent correction of various aberrations. The rear focusing system ensures fast focusing speed as well as preventing the front of the lens rotating, making it particularly suitable for use with circular polarizing filters.
Sigma APO 300-800mm HSM lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Zoom Lenses
Sigma launched a new Four-Thirds system compatible, large aperture ultra-telephoto zoom lens; Sigma APO 300-800mm F5.6 EX DG HSM. This Sigma lens covers the equivalent field of view to 600mm to 1600mm when used on Four-Thirds cameras. By continuously varying the angle of view, the lens takes a lot of the footwork out of picture composition. The very latest lens coating technology and lens design reduce flare and ghosting, a common problem with digital cameras. Two ELD glass elements in the front lens group reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and also ensure high optimum image quality. The overall length of the lens does not change during focusing and zooming, ensuring convenient handling.
