Tamron releases another advance in the company's pursuit of high-resolution images in the telephoto lens category. The new Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 telephoto zoom lens features image stabilization and an ultrasonic auto-focus drive. The SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD (model A005) high-resolution DSLR lens is engineered for a Nikon mount, with compatibility for Canon and Sony mounts to follow. While designed for digital SLR cameras, the Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD (Model A005) can be used with both full-frame sensor and AF 35 mm cameras having a zoom range of 70-300 mm, and as well with APS-C sensor cameras where the angle of view changes the zoom to 109-465 mm.

Photokina 2010 Report : The new Olympus M Zuiko Digital 14-150mm F4-5.6 has a total range of 10.7x zoom (28-300 mm equiv. 35mm camera) and falls under the category all-round zoom lenses. It is a handy lens to combine with one of the Olympus PEN system cameras. There are currently four lenses available in the Olympus Micro Four Thirds Standard System, but there are undoubtedly more being planned. We thoroughly tested the Olympus PEN E-PL1, equipped with a Olympus Zuiko Digital 14-150mm lens. Our test conclusions are based on practice combined with technical tests that are performed in the DIWA lab that is managed by Kai Thon, test manager of DIWA Awards.

Photokina 2010 News - Continuing its record of 3D technology leader-ship, Panasonic announced the development of the world's first digital interchangeable twin-lens, making it possible to shoot 3D with an interchangeable lens system camera. As a new member of Panasonic’s powerful line-up of interchangeable lenses as part of the LUMIX G Micro System, the twin-lens will allow high-quality shooting in 3D. Currently, 3D shooting with an interchangeable lens system camera is possible only by using panorama systems or by combining two lenses and two CCDs. However, these systems are not ideal and have difficulty capturing moving objects. Panasonic plans to release this new lens for sale before the end of the year.

Photokina 2010 News - Sony is expanding its already strong line-up of over 30 A-mount lenses with new models that will appeal to seasoned photographers and those new to digital SLR cameras alike. The Sony Distagon T* 24mm F2 ZA SSM (SAL24F20Z) features the acclaimed Carl Zeiss Distagon design and rounds out the existing Planar (SAL85F14Z) and Sonnar (SAL135F18Z) models also developed in conjunction with Carl Zeiss. It is intended to appeal to experienced photographers looking for a large-aperture wide-angle lens of real distinction. The Sony DT 35mm F1.8 SAM (SAL35F18) adds the important 35mm focal length to the ‘Easy Choice’ series. ‘Easy Choice’ is intended to provide great value, compact and lightweight lenses that are attractive to entry-level and advanced photographers.
