Photokina report
Photokina 2010 report : I had the opportunity to shoot for a very short time some pictures with a full production Olympus E-5 camera at the press day of Photokina 2010. The test photos are made with an Olympus ZUIKO Digital 12-60mm f/2.8-4 lens. The Olympus E-5 camera was introduced just before the Photokina 2010 started and is Olympus' most recent Four Thirds high-end DSLR camera. The new Olympus E-5 camera features a new Live MOS sensor and a newly developed powerful TruePic V+ engine. The Olympus E-5 camera should bring the Four Thirds quality to the next level. The Olympus E-5 is improved with key features and had some added bonus like HD movie recording.

Furthermore the Olympus E-5 camera features a 3-inch VGA Swivel LCD and ten creative art filters to bring back creativity into a digital camera. There are some interesting filters like the Dramatic Tone Art Filter that generates a virtual HDR image with just one shot. A more popular feature is the movie function that give the Olympus E-5 support of 720p HD video and extra audio functions like the support for an external microphone for stereo sound. The new 12.3 Megapixel Live MOS sensor combines its qualities with the powerful TruePic V+ engine. This new processor incorporates new algorithm to process the pixels that are recorded extensively. According to Olympus the new E-5 uses the full potential of the impressive Zuiko Digital EN lenses which will result into great high quality photos.
